Science Gallery, Dublin, which opened 2008 as a living experiment that would bridge art and science, plays host to this short, but innovative, research-focused workshop. As well as understanding how the Science Gallery has become established as one of Dublin’s cultural visitor attractions, we will examine the mechanisms required that enables them to develop an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events fuelled by the expertise of scientists, researchers, students, artists, designers, inventors, creative thinkers and entrepreneurs. This workshop offers an opportunity to learn more about a unique model of partnership, discuss the research opportunities opening up and, importantly, begin to consider the research questions required so science and ‘the public’ might be brought closer together.
